The Pele VAV is a rare Pele rookie card – the overall PSA graded population for the VAV is about 1/3 of that of the ultra expensive Pele Alifa rookie.*
This particular VAV cards is in superb condition for the grade. A tiny bit of paper loss is all that keeps this card from grading much higher. These cards are commonly miscut (more than 30% of the cards in the PSA set registry are miscut*), due to how they were issued. That said, the paper loss and slight miscut do not distract from the beautiful salmon color on front, with the green Brazilian flag, celebrating Pele’s victory in the 1958 world cup of his ‘rookie’ season.
The Pele VAV is considered as one of the major classic Pele rookies and that combined with a low population report makes it a great investment.
